Vietnamese national and Cambodian apprehended for attempting to bring drug across border to Vietnam

Police in Svay Rieng arrested a Vietnamese and Cambodian who were trying to smuggle drugs across the border to Vietnam.  

The Svay Rieng Provincial Anti-Drug Police Force, in cooperation with Bavet City Police Force, arrested two young people on the morning of October 13. They were attempting to smuggle drugs out of the country through the border at located in Tapip Village, Bavet Commune, Bavet City, Svay Rieng.

The police identified the two suspects as Le Vantha, an 18-year-old Vietnamese carpenter. the Vietnamese national resides in Doeum Sleng Village, Chbar Ampov Commune, Chbar Ampov District, Phnom Penh. The second suspect is Po Pros Mao, a 17-year-old male carpenter from the same place as the Vietnamese national.

Police also confiscated 21 packages of drugs weighing more than 2 kilograms in total, 1 K54 handgun with 8 bullets, 2 phones, and 1 motorcycle. The confiscated things and the two are currently being detained at the Svay Rieng Provincial Police Station. The two are still waiting for legal proceedings.
